The Afro Cafe was pleased to be part of "Jazz and the City".
From October 12th until 15th our guests were spoiled with Jazz grooves and delicious food at the Afro Cafe Salzburg.
This year we could welcome "Blues Juice" and "Schubert & Meik".

The duet "BLUES JUICE" grooves in a very special way. Frank Schwinn and his laid-back style matches perfectly with Nane Frühstückls charismatic voice and together they create a very own feeling. They take their head off to the masters of blues like Robert Johnson, Blind Boy Fuller, Son House, and create a new approach.

Stefan Schubert and Alex Meik have experienced and achieved a lot in their career as musicians. That is what our guests will experience during their sessions at the Afro Cafe Salzburg in the course of Jazz and The City. Just a short extract from their impressive career: in 2004 Stefan Schubert startet his work as musical director of the project “Stubnblues” with Willi Resetarits. In 2007 he composed together with Josef Hader „Wienerisch mit The Grooves“. In 2008 he was the musical director of the „Willi Resetarits Silvesterschau“ at the Wiener Konzerthaus as well as of the opening concert of the Wiener Festwochen mit Joe Sample, Juliette Greco and so on.
Alex Meik had different band projects with the Lungau Big Band, Sabina Hank as well as concerts and workshops with Randy Brecker, Ray Charles, Lee Harper, Hans Söllner and others.
